This was the biggest pile of crap I have ever seen, straight from Nu
Labour central casting. Feisty Scotswoman Prof lead (like in every feisty woman
cop series), PC ethnic diversity was 'correct' in main characters,
every white male lead was either sexist and therefore slightly mad (The
Prof) or over bearing, pompous and condescending to women (The other
Prof), or Christian (therefore immediately deranged or simple) with swords chopping the heads off ' Islam is a peaceful' religion Muslims who were trying to reach out to the white proto KKK members (lifted straight out of 'Highlander'). All of the characters had to play second fiddle to the Alpha Female who of course has a guilty secret.
Utter bilge, and the second overtly sexist, anti English, anti white middle class male, anti Christian, Pro Islamic (and I am an atheist!) and anti business project I have seen in the last few months. Even the archaeology was risible. Bring back Tony Robinson, who at least suppressed his political views.Whoops sorry, he is white, middle class and male, therefore far too 'Right wing'

Check list please
1. PC boxes ticked.
Degenerate / incompetent white good guys. Check.
Feisty heroine. Check
Backup black hero/heroines. Check
Muslim victim. Check.
All ok there.
2. Shit script. By God you nailed that one. Check.
(BTW can the BBC or script writers sued for the lifting dialogue straight from successful US progs and shoe horning it into a BBC prog?)
e.g. “Identify yourself creep caller” .
3. Headline grabbing story of Right Wing Christians being naughty. Check.
No doubt it series 2 will be commissioned on the hurry up.

I didn't see it (I try to watch as little of the BBC as I can), but this reminds me of when they swapped 'islamist terror' as the source of the bomb in Casualty, to 'animal rights' terror, because they didn't want to upset certain sensibilities. Now, I think all animal rights terrorists should be boiled alive and fed to pigs, but even I have to admit that they haven't staged a large scale attack yet, in real life. The Islamists, however...
But we all know, Political correctness is more important than factual correctness to the BBC / Nu Labour alliance.

I didn't watch it but one of my colleagues came in the next morning ranting very much along the same lines as you, only more irate.
I'm so sick of this kind of crap I stopped watching TV altogether, even Dr Who is infected with this bile.
